Who we are
Deer Creek Designs ("we", "us", "our") is a small handmade-goods studio operated by Jill in Effingham, Illinois. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit deercreekdesigns.com or place an order, and how we use it.
What we collect
- Order details — name, email, shipping address, phone (optional), and what you ordered.
- Account info — if you create an account, your email and a hashed password.
- Payment info — handled directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- Garments you send us — physical clothing you ship for custom work, returned with your order or, where agreed, used in the finished piece.
- Photos and notes — anything you share so we can design your keepsake.
- Basic site analytics — pages viewed and rough device info, used to keep the site working well.
How we use it
- To make and ship your order, and to keep you updated through the process.
- To take payment and issue refunds where applicable.
- To answer questions you send us.
- To meet tax and recordkeeping obligations.
We don't sell your information, and we don't send marketing emails unless you specifically opt in.
Who we share it with
Only the providers we need to run the studio:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- USPS / UPS / FedEx — shipping the finished item.
- Our hosting and database providers — to store order and account information securely.
- Authorities — only where required by law.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as needed for warranty, tax, and business-record purposes — typically up to seven years. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; we may retain order history needed for our records.
Your choices
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Withdraw consent for any optional use.
